The Data Analyst I executes analyses from start to finish, including data gathering, cleaning, and analysis; summarizing results, and suggesting conclusions, to meet internal management and/or client needs.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned analysis projects with supervisor support
  • Works with supervisor as needed to clarify scope and expected output of analysis
  • Defines data requirements; gathers and cleans data
  • Performs necessarily analysis using the appropriate analytical tools and statistical techniques to combine, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in dataset
  • Performs quality control on analysis, identifying and fixing bugs, to achieve a high-quality final product
  • Clearly communicates analyses to leaders by summarizing assumptions, process, and results
  • Supports supervisor in communicating results to internal/external management by preparing content using platforms such as Excel, Tableau, PowerPoint, or other
  • Creates and executes custom reporting for internal management and/or client needs
  • Learns core relevant dataset(s); expands knowledge of both the schema of the dataset(s) and the context of the data itself
  • Increases understanding of the assigned product(s) and assists with QA of data and processes as needed
  • Collecting data from various sources and apply advanced machine learning algorithm development
  • Learns and increases knowledge of at least one domain
  • Expands technical and industry expertise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or related or equivalent combination of quantitative and technical education and experience
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of experience as a data analyst in a complex industry
  • Experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Stata, SPSS, SAS, R, Python or comparable required, as well as Excel)
  • Experience using statistical or visualization packages for analyzing datasets (e.g., Tableau or comparable)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of relational databases; strong SQL query writing ability; proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later
  • Knowledge of statistics, including linear and logistic regression techniques
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently with a high initiative and a sense of accountability and ownership
  • Strong problem solving and organization skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships across departments and teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • In depth knowledge of statistics desired
  • Working knowledge of accounting desired
  • Understanding of property management industry a plus
  • Regular attendance and a regular work schedule are essential functions of this job
