The Data Acquisition Specialist (MDM) is responsible for acquiring, managing, manipulating and analyzing read data and reporting results from multiple billing platforms and AMR systems. This will include troubleshooting AMR equipment at the property level, as well as database maintenance. Candidates will need the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and to quickly learn new technologies and processes. Must have excellent written and verbal skills to interact with internal and external clients when necessary to resolve meter reading issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Track and ensure reads are in billing systems and manage issues with properties that readers cannot read
  • Audit properties to determine health of reading systems. E-mail all concerned with the property and update them as repairs are made
  • Submit work orders to the maintenance team
  • Prepare upload and download files to be loaded into reading systems
  • Assist in setting up meter data so we can bill residents
  • Address and determine what issues are with reads or systems and resolve problems if possible
  • Notify billing team or field operations and answer questions related to meter data management
  • Understand and help maintain remote reading systems in the office
  • Analyze data and provide information if requested by management or internal or external customers
  • Learn new systems and help build processes that make the MDM team more efficient
  • Call property to trouble shoot the remote data collectors with the staff
  • Down load reads from data collector and prepare to load into our billing systems
  • Inform property that work order has been submitted for repairs.
  • E-mail all concerned that the data collector has been repaired and reads have been retrieved.
  • Serve as tech support for field technicians
  • Regular scheduled work hours and attendance are required

EDUCATION/ESSENTIAL SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • College degree or equivalent experienced preferred
  • Knowledge of metering hardware, various major AMR technologies, and field operations experience is helpful but not essential
  • Communication skills and a good attitude are important as the position requires interaction with property managers and maintenance staff on the properties
  • PC literate with experience using MS Excel and Outlook, and Access
  • Experience with YARDI systems is a plus
  • Well organized and able to multitask
  • Detailed oriented in a technical environment with client focus.
  • Ability to take direction and work in a fast paced team environment
  • Have an excellent understanding of reading systems as they relate to billing
  • Sourcing from multiple systems using ETL (Extract Transform Load)
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail
  • Regular attendance and a regular work schedule is an essential function of this job

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is a plus
  • Three years of experience in a Field Operations role working with field personal
  • One year experience troubleshooting and maintaining reading systems
