The Energy Management Analyst will be a part of Yardi’s growing commercial segment performing analysis to recommend more efficient and sustainable ways to operate businesses with Yardi Energy products related to conservation, analytics, benchmarking, billing, and payment. They will identify energy efficient strategies, generate savings models, maintain reporting systems, review client data to identify gaps and errors, and suggest system improvements for future development. The Energy Management Analyst may assist Sales in the review of potential energy client opportunities and in the development of preliminary proposals


  • Facilitate understanding of expense management and utility billing program for clients and within teams
  • Coordinate interdepartmental support concerning issues, implementations, system design and testing of new system functionality to meet client requirements of the future
  • Act as project manager for special project items and issue resolutions with minimal supervision to include implementation of Energy STAR services and energy audits
  • Design new product features to allow clients to increase cost recovery and efficiency
  • Analyze utility and building data to recommend energy conservation measures (ECM)
  • Identify areas to reduce costs of maintenance and operations
  • Perform high-level calculations, trend analysis, and quality control on all utility types
  • Conduct and assists with in-depth surveys to identify energy inefficiencies within a facility or across client portfolio and use information to recommend and propose efficiency strategies
  • Prepare energy savings models using analysis tools (E2 Insight, Energy+ etc.)
  • Generate proposal requests based on approved projects from the installation team
  • Assists manager in supervising subcontractors and consultants to ensure the quality of work is consistent with the requirements of the job
  • Generate post installation of measurement & verification reports
  • Provide savings calculations and sequence summaries to support the development of sales proposals
  • Enlist support from management and peers to address complex client requests and resolve complex issues


  • Possess a BA/BS degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 3 to 5 years of Energy Management and Sustainability Experience
  • Excellent client communication and relationship management
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Ability to train clients on client site
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and document solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks on time
  • Strong technical understanding of control systems, and energy efficiency strategies
  • Familiarity with utility rate structures, utility bills, and usage patterns
  • Familiarity with utility rebate and incentive programs and applications
  • LEED AP Certification preferred
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) preferred
  • Regular attendance and work schedule is an essential function of this job


  • Ability to work at assigned office location or at client sites
  • Up to 20% travel required
  • Attend meetings and perform tasks for long periods of time on a computer and on the telephone
